Heather & Jamie , The Market at Grelen, Somerset, Virginia

This unforgettable vow renewal was like one out of a romance novel. I got the chance to see this wonderful couple renew their vows in Somerset, Virginia at the Market at Grelen. This was the first time in Virginia where I wasn’t just passing through and I am so glad I got to witness this.  This location was just remarkable. It would rain off and on the whole day. A famous singer once said. “Love is a shelter in a raging storm”, and this was exactly the phrase that would get us through the day.
Heather and Jamie have been married for 10 years and wanted to do a romantic renewal to celebrate their  marriage and wonderful children. They wanted a romantic boho style wedding filled with feathers and gorgeous flowers. It was designed by the famous Heather Benge, and it was sure to leave no detail unhinged. The majority of the day took part at the Market at Grelen’s permanent tent, saving us from the rain. I was “awe struck” by the amazing set up that was prepared for their wedding day. The numerous details from different styles, came together to create its own eclectic theme. This free spirited design was a breath of fresh air for my kindred spirit.
The day of the vow renewal had set us with a rainy, foggy atmosphere on its Virginia hills. When driving to “Market at the Grelen”, you get a truly beautiful glimpse of the amazing grounds that surround the area. You pass many of the Historical sites of President James Madison’s Montpelier. I couldn’t help but think of what a great attraction for thier weddings guests to see while in town. When you finally pull up the hill at the “Market at the Grelen”, its a breathtaking sight. Giving you a panoramic view of the evergreen fields, lush gardens and the Blue Ridge Mountains, it could make anyone want to get remarried there.

There is a different feeling when you get the chance to work with a couple who truly appreciates each other. Everyone could just see the love between these two as they talked about their wonderful marriage and their happy family.  Real love doesnt have an expiration date; a common thought, as we watched these two walk down the aisle, toast at their gorgeous sweetheart table, and share a piece of the delectable cake. (I had a piece, my oh my, was it yummy!!!)
When you see a couple like this, 10 years and still going, it gives you hope that everlasting love still exists!!
