Carrie and Denver’s Phipps Conservatory Wedding
Carrie and Denver’s summer wedding at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens was truly next level beautiful! Truly, all day long these two were such a sweet couple. It was such a joy to see them enjoy themselves with all their loved ones. Since these two no longer live in Pittsburgh and currently reside in Louisiana, they flew into the Burgh with many of their friends alongside them.
Their Love Story
These two met while working together at the Nemacolin Resort. Denver was chef of the tavern and Carrie was front of house intern, and they just hit it off! However, because of how closely they had to work with one another, Carrie had initially turned down Denver’s offer to date. But Denver persisted! He didn’t give up on her. That just does go to show that love is definitely worth fighting for! I think one of my favorite details about Carrie and Denver’s love story is that they got engaged at Pike’s Peak … in Colorado. It just seemed meant to be considering Denver’s name 🙂
The Wedding Day
The girls rented a cute Airbnb to get ready in. It was located in a cute row townhome near Carson St. on the South Side. It was such an adorable space to use. We decided to do a first look — and can I just say, a First Look is always so nice to allow my couples to get all their portraits done before the ceremony begins! That way when it comes time for the reception, you can go straight into partying!
Denver’s reaction during their First Look completely melted me. He was crying, Carrie was crying, I was crying! Then, we did some gorgeous portraits around the Phipps Property. One request from Denver and his groomsmen was to take photos wearing spooky masks since their wedding day landed on Friday the 13th.
Weddings at the Phipps Conservatory allow for the most gorgeous backdrop, featuring the Cathedral of Learning. After their sweet ceremony, we got to celebrate under a tent with the most beautiful florals, cake, and fun details. Which, after this night with Carrie and Denver, I now have to conclude that ALL receptions deserve to include glow sticks!!
