A White Barn Wedding | Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer

This White Barn wedding was a photographer’s dream! The venue sits by a beautiful pond on over 200 acres. You’ll soon see we had the most perfect background for Sarah and Kyle’s portraits, and I loved getting to play with the property’s boat too!
While I did not get the chance to take engagement photos for Sarah and Kyle, I knew I was going to love them from our first phone call together. Then, meeting them in person just confirmed that. They are such a precious couple! You can tell how comfortable they are with each other, and how much they rely on one another.

Their Love Story

Sarah and Kyle met during their freshman year of high school. Sarah teases that Kyle was constantly cheating off of her during Global science class. They became friends, and by spring of the following year, they were dating. Their first official date was going to see the movie “Just Go With It.” Well, they listened! They just went with it – and now they’re married!

Sarah says that she knew the night Kyle was going to propose because of just how nervous he was – which, she admitted – made it all that much sweeter. Kyle had made plans to have dinner together. They went up the incline to Mt. Washington in Pittsburgh at sunset. At one overlook, Kyle got down on one knee. Seconds later, Sarah’s sister came barreling out of  a car, taking pictures of the two of them. Both of their families were waiting to join them for their dinner plans. Afterwards they partied at her brother’s house, and shared a wonderful night full of all the people they loved.

Some of their favorite things to do together are snuggling up together to watch 90 Day Fiance (“We are pretty invested!” Sarah admits), going on hikes or quad rides, playing with their pup Lily, and making each other laugh. Now they get to look forward to traveling more together and, as Kyle puts it, “adding more members to their ever growing family.”

The Wedding Day

We had the sunniest, brightest day for most of their wedding day. And while that might be a scary obstacle for a photographer, I was so happy to get beautiful backlit portraits for them. Not to mention, the sun helped keep us all warm! One of my favorite moments of their White Barn wedding was when Sarah stopped on her way down the aisle to hug her mother. Everyone could see how much it meant to each of them to share that moment just before Sarah’s father handed her off to Kyle.

There was so much love and joy surrounding Sarah and Kyle’s wedding day. I am so honored I got to witness and capture it all for them. Who knew that a high school science class could turn into dreams coming true?!
