I’m so excited to start a new series for my brides!! I have worked with some amazing creatives, and I really wanted to create a space on my blog to highlight them and their work. So I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Pittsburgh Wedding Vendors! It is an honor to have Exhale Events on the blog today! Last year I was able to collaborate with this amazing team and provide a video of a styled shoot they put together. You can see that video – and their incredible vision come to life – below!
Without further delay, here is this amazing team duo, the women behind this genius shoot and so much more!
Exhale Events is a long time passion turned into a career. Ask my friends from high school – they’d tell you I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do.
I’m Nicole – a lover of food (anything Italian!), sunshine and my little family (hubby + two doodles). My background in events started as early as high school when I was on student council and the prom committee. Then I started my professional career during college organizing corporate events – large scale fundraisers and corporate parties that ranged in budget size and scope. While those jobs fulfilled my planning bug with the occasional wedding in the mix, after 7 years in the corporate industry, I knew I wanted to insert some more creativity and light-heartedness into my work.
After a few years of being out on the west coast for my husband’s military career, we finally came back to settle down in Pittsburgh. Once we settled, it felt like a no-brainer to take the leap and thus, Exhale Events was born!
I’m Katharine – the free spirit, lover of travel and plant mom enthusiast! I’ve always had a bit of a flair for the creative, whether it’s a home DIY project or my love of photography. Ironically, my early love of photography is what exposed me to videography while I was in college. At that time, when you googled videography what mostly came up were wedding videos. As a campus RA I would spend a good chunk of my late night “on-duty” shifts watching tons of wedding videos on Vimeo (even Nicole can attest to this!) assessing the style of filmography and admittedly being drawn in by all the different love stories. So, looking back on it, maybe me landing here is not as surprising as we both make it seem.
At the beginning of my professional career I worked in PR agencies focusing on digital and social media marketing. I worked in tandem with publicists to make sure that I created marketing material and engaged with our client’s audience in a way that was true to their unique voice. What I enjoyed most was the interaction with the different communities each client had cultivated— I’m a people person, so it’s no surprise that I fell into the work of social media.
As for my entrance into Exhale Events, as Nicole has mentioned, this business has been a lifelong dream of hers and any of her close friends can confirm that. So, as she was getting started, I wanted to be the most supportive friend I could be (because I was so excited for her!!) which is why I offered to provide my skills in the realms of branding and social media marketing. What began with me saying “let me just help you get started” turned into me helping Nicole really build out and bring this beautiful dream business to life and ultimately her extending a hand and saying “okay, you’re just a partner in this!” As time went on, I realized that sometimes someone else’s dream can be shared and become your own.
