Winter Red at The Carmichael House in Jackson Georgia

This beautiful winter red inspiration was designed by Sarah Elizabeth. The beautiful winter red design was hosted at The Carmichael House, a Victorian estate located in Jackson, Georgia. Brought back to its former glory, the Queen Anne Victorian is the centerpiece of this 2.5 acre property. The Carmichael House is filled with charm with its wrap around porch, dollhouse features, and time period pieces throughout the house. Walking into the foyer, you are instantly taking back in time. Owner & Partner, Paige Beck, stylized the home and does not let any detail go unhinged. Among the main house, the estate holds an adorable gazebo, pond & garden great for pictures, 3 bedroom cottage, original red barn and a brand new indoor reception space option.

For the styled shoot we focused on the spacious outside grounds of the estate. We centered around a beautiful gazebo that could be a perfect backdrop for either ceremony or reception. Although, the beautiful day turned into a rainy one, the gazebo was a great spot for portraits to cover us from the rain.

The reception table was set with mockingbird plates, gold silverware, antique green and red goblets, all from the Prissy Plate Company. The porch even had a cocoa bar inspiration for guests. My favorite highlight of the day was the wagon cake table. The old wagon was made into a wonderful, winter red cake table. The wagon, crowded with red accents, is a great historic detail that could charm any guest. The naked red and white layered cake was simply perfect next to its identical grooms cake. Both cakes were surrounded by many other delicious goodies, all from CakeDacious Bakery, including chocolate covered pretzels, and red velvet macadamia cookies. At the front the of the wagon, chilled champagne was offered with cranberry accents.

Red was everywhere. The magnificent floral designs from Shamrock Florist could not go unnoticed, the bold red color popped against the winter greens and the hints of red from the Victorian mansion. The gorgeous ruby ring from Sparkle la Vie, along with the scarlet red shoes from Shoe Dazzle, were the exact details needed for a bride in white.

As if all the details weren’t enough, we had the bride and groom pose with Luna, a gorgeous mare who looked majestic wrapped in a marvelous pine wreath. What could be a better backdrop than the estates original red barn?

Between all the amazing vendors and the incredible venue itself, its not hard to feel impressed by everyone involved. The unique red details are really what set the mood for the design. A setting of vintage, a taste of romance and as the famous Audrey Hepburn once said, “There is a shade of red for every woman.”
